Shady Grove Oliver

Shady Grove is the editor and head writer for Get Sleepy. She has lived around the world, most recently spending several years working as a journalist in the Arctic, and is now based in the Sonoran Desert with a pack of strange and lovable dogs. She is still hoping to be an astronaut when she grows up.

Her Rainy Day Bakery series is loosely inspired by her time as an assistant baker at a tiny cafe in Alaska. She loves seeing new places and meeting interesting people, and it is often those small day-to-day interactions and moments of beauty that spark her stories and characters.

After years of working with Get Sleepy's writers and voice-over artists, she counts getting to know them and seeing their unique approaches to storytelling as a privilege. And she credits the listeners above all: without them, Get Sleepy could never have grown into what it is today.
