Twice before. Bedtime Fan joined in February 2020 and Send Me To Sleep in August 2022. Both kept their names, both are live today, and both are run by the same team that makes everything else here.
What has joined, and what happened next
- Bedtime Fan — Launched by EllisApps in 2014, joined Slumber Studios in February 2020. Still live on the App Store and Google Play, at 11.4 million downloads and a 4.7-star rating from 249K ratings.
- Send Me To Sleep — First episode in May 2020 under Stride Digital, joined Slumber Studios in August 2022. Still publishing, still hosted by Andrew Bond, and now part of the Premium Podcast Bundle alongside the studio’s other shows.
What fits
- Sleep sound and sleep audio apps — Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon Alexa or other apps, with or without a subscription.
- Sleep podcasts or YouTube shows — Stories, meditations, history, public domain readings, etc. Shows with a back catalog and listeners who return.
- Audiobook and music catalogs — Recordings made for sleep, where the script, performance, master and music rights are clean.
- Sleep and wellness audio more broadly — If people fall asleep, or wind down with it, tell us about it.
What does not
- Hardware, clinics, and services — We know how to make sleep audio and distribute it, not how to run a hardware, clinic, or service business.
- Rights that cannot be shown — A catalog whose scripts, voices, or music cannot be traced to a signed agreement or the public domain cannot join.
- Synthetic narration — Every voice you hear on our shows and apps is a person.
How it works
- Describe the product — What it is, who listens, how it makes money, and who owns the rights.
- Talk with us — The conversation is directly with our CEO, so the questions are about the product itself.
- Agree on the terms — Scope, timing, what happens to the team, the name and the audience.
- Hand it over with the audience in place — The handoff is planned so that feeds, store listings, reviews, subscribers, and hosting move with the product.
- Keep going — We'll keep the name, show, or app going. Both products that joined before kept theirs, and are still running today.
Why bring it here
- We keep shows and apps running — Two products have joined Slumber Studios so far and both are live today.
- Audience comes first — A handoff that loses listeners is a failure, so we plan around keeping feeds, store listings, reviews, subscribers, and hosting in place.
- Human-made stays human-made — Narration is 100% human on every studio show, and that does not change.
- One studio, shared reach — Your product joins seven sleep podcasts, three apps, an audiobook library and a music label, and the chance to be heard across them.
Questions
- Does Slumber Studios acquire sleep apps and podcasts?
- Slumber Studios has acquired two sleep audio products, Bedtime Fan (2020) and Send Me To Sleep (2022), and runs both today. It is open to more. Slumber Studios is a strategic buyer, not a fund: there is one studio, one team, and everything it takes on becomes part of it.
- What kinds of products fit?
- Sleep sound and sleep audio apps, sleep podcasts, audiobook, or music catalogs made for sleep, with an existing audience and clean rights. Health and wellness apps and audio more broadly are also welcome.
- What happens to listeners and users after a handoff?
- The aim is that they notice nothing. Feeds, store listings, reviews, subscriptions and hosting are moved with the product, in an order that keeps the audience in place.
- Does a show keep its host, or an app its name?
- Both acquired products kept their names, and Send Me To Sleep kept its host. Hosts and narrators are a conversation per show, and a human voice always stays a human voice.
- Do you take on whole companies or single products?
- Tell us what you have. An app, a show, a catalog, or the company behind it can all start the conversation.
- What do you need to see first?
- Who listens and how many, how the product makes money, who owns the script, performance, master and music rights, and who controls the feeds and store listings.
- How do we start?
- Use the partner inquiry form and check "Bringing an app, show or catalog to the studio".
